Best airport for the Runoffs?

Post by qposner »

Which airport does everyone use for the Runoffs? I need to make flight reservations. Thanks!

The best bet is probably Mitchell Field in Milwaukee. I'm sure there are smaller airports closer to RA, but I doubt any of those have serious commerical traffic. Now if your talking about small airports for private planes, then sorry, can't help you.

Driving from Mitchell Field in Milwaukee to RA is about an hour

Mitchell is the closest big commercial airport; it's about 75 miles from the track. Green Bay is only about 50 miles, but might be less convenient to get a connection into.

What about Appleton? NW and United fly out of there. About 45 min away. I just need to find an airport that other people will be flying out of so I can hitch a ride after the race.

Thanks for the info!

Quinn,

Appleton and Green Bay airports are both about an hour from Road America.

I live in Appleton, but I won't be leaving the track till the end of the day on the FV race day.

Thanks, Mike. Perhaps I will sit tight and wait to see where other people are flying out of. Then, make reservations based off any rides I can hitch.
