For what it is worth...

Post by 77fmod »

All,
If you look at the results of the Peru Tour, you will see that a Vee can be competitive. My car has had modifications learned from the last Nationals I attended. Namely, changing the restrictive exhaust I had on it and introducing rear roll resistance to the zero roll layout...
The results could have been better due to a couple of issues.. The main one was locking the linkage on the second day so that I could not shift. Had to run the entire course in 3rd gear and was on the rev limiter for a duration of it....
Just echoing what Vernon said to me at the 2015 Nationals... "Don't give up."

Thanks Vernon..

Another decent outing at a two day divisional in Peru. My co-driver finished 2nd on the first day and I finished second on the second day. Chris Pruitt had me by .7 secs but I left some time out there. Of course, everyone always does.. The diagnostics says an optimum lap would have been .5 secs faster...

In fact, Chris was only .1 secs off of Will Leheigh in his F/mod... A notable result right there....

We continue to improve the car and have some more testing to come later this year for more front grip..

I would like to thank Bob Q. for the inspiration to add roll resistance to the zeroroll resistance rear and for the idea of going to a resonator exhaust ditching the Supertrap. That has helped the car exponentially!

I hope someone is benefiting from these posts. I see qite a few views but not responses....

All the best,

JB, not as many on here doing autocross as road racing, IMO.
I do appreciate the posts however.

Hi Johnny. I'm not surprised by the SuperTrapp. They are very restrictive. The Coast Fabrication muffler that makes my car look like it has a stinger added 10 hp and 10 ft-lbs over the open header. The SuperTrapp took away more than 10 each from the open header.

Thank for the reply Lynn. I did not have the dyno verification but I can definitely feel it through seat of the pants. It no longer sputters out of corners and even the idle cleaned up. It is pretty incredible the difference it made.

All the best,
