Hi

I'm looking to buy a good used FC-152 ATL fuel cell. Mine developed a small leak in the back seam. FC-152 is the only size that I think will fit and I can't find any other cell's that will be legal in both Vintage and SCCA.

Please let me know what you have and the size if it's not an ATL FC-152 it can't be any wider than 14"

Thanks

Fuel Safe CB304 is almost identical. http://www.fuelsafe.com/store/specialty ... 0-808.html

Fuel Safe CB401 might work at <14" on the bottom, and lower cost: http://www.fuelsafe.com/store/specialty ... 0-804.html

Some of the vendors listed at the top may have these at better prices than the factory retail. Seems like SR Racing mentioned they carry or can get them.

oops. Fuel Safe has raised their prices to us a bit, so a couple of those prices will be adjusted slightly. I will still keep them lower than anyone else.

Are there any other companies that make "legal" fuel cells for SCCA that I could consider, or am I stuck with either ATL or Fuel Safe? I would love a custom one, but I almost chocked when ATL told me $1200 as an estimate, and my dimensions were only to change the width to 12" from the 14" on the FC-152.
I found a RCI one online that would fit great 12" wide, but not sure if I could use it. Any Ideas?

Eagle
http://www.eaglefuelcells.com/

Non of this monopolistic BS you get from the other two ..... who claimed to not even know the other company but gave me quotes within $17 of each other. Real, helpful, genuine folks in Wisconsin. After being dicked around by the big two for weeks, I got a personal reply from the Eagle owner in 20 mins. Product was produced on time and on the quoted price which was hundreds less.

SCCA relaxed standards recently. You need a letter stating that the cell meets the appropriate standards. Formal certification is not required. Anyone telling you "certified" cells are better or safer is blowing smoke up your butt.

I did not know this. Thanks. I'll try Eagle for a quote myself when I have the dimensions.

I will second what Greg R. has to say about Eagle. As I do restorations on Vintage Vees I have had Eagle do probably 8 or 10 cells in the past few years ( ordering 2 more this month ). They have never quoted me more than 3 weeks delivery and have never been late - often I have it by the date quoted for being completed. Years ago Fuel Safe quoted me 6 weeks and I got it in 6 months - haven't been back since. Eagle was also able to repair a FS cell for me quite reasonably. Questions - drop me a note.

Thanks racerguy!

I think it really depends upon timing. I have ordered from Eagle, Fuel Safe and ATL, customs from all 3, and off the shelf units from FS and ATL.
Fuel Safe has usually been ~10 working days. Similar with ATL, but I have only ordered one custom one from them. Eagle has been 3 to 5 weeks. All have made their commitments. I usually have the ATL units on the shelf for immediate delivery.
Considering everything (components supplied, etc.) their prices are pretty close, with Eagle having a slight edge on the custom cells.

This is based upon probably 20 -25 cells in the last 2 years.
