Where exactly can one buy "double layer, 5 ounce bi-directional, laminated Kevlar material" ?

You normally buy the single layer and just overlay it. You can get it from Wicks Aircraft, most any Fibreglass on-line store and even us, BUT, I think I am low on stock right now. I would have to check to see how much I have.

I've always used Aircraft Spruce & Speciality, they have a good web site and a great catalog.

Don't forget the sissors, Kevlar is hard to cut (Aircraft Spruce also has the sissors).

The scissors work ok, but we have always had better luck with the "pizza" cutter type. Just make sure the Kevlar is on a VERY hard surface like glass and it breaks the fibers into perfect cuts.

How are you bonding it to the fiberglass body?
Do you lay it up with epoxy?
Will epoxy bond well enough to the polyester resin body?

I get my Kevlar at sweetcomposites.com and they are in MD outside DC.

We rough the interior resin and then use epoxy for the Kevlar. Hasn''t come off yet. Of course we haven't been hit yet.
