The first manufacturer has been put on the SCCA list of alternative fuel cell suppliers. You can see the official list at http://www.scca.com/documents/Club%20Fo ... pliers.pdf.
Eagle really only deals with bladders and not containers. For formula and sports racing cars, that is all that is needed. For production based cars, Eagle will only be of help if you are looking for a replacement bladder for an existing cell. Eagle has said that if there was sufficient demand for full cells for production based cars, they might consider making them.

P.S. There are a couple of other companies we are hoping to hear from, but we haven't yet.

Re: Alternate SCCA approved fuel cell manufacturers
Why does SCCA refer to this an "alternative" fuel cell supplier list? John

Re: Alternate SCCA approved fuel cell manufacturers
Because this list is for manufacturers who are approved to make cells for SCCA but who have not gone through either FIA or SFI approval. See GCR 9.3.27.jpetillo wrote:Why does SCCA refer to this an "alternative" fuel cell supplier list? John

Dave, got it, thanks! John
Re: Alternate SCCA approved fuel cell manufacturers
Here's a company that repairs at a resonable rate. Times are slow and their prices are good. They are not SFI or FIA certified but if their good enought for the FAA their good enough for me. SInce the certified cell business is practically a monopoly, it's nice to have an alternative. http://www.hartwigfuelcell.com/

Re: Alternate SCCA approved fuel cell manufacturers
Just as a follow up I did contact the people at Eagle Fuel Cells. I gave them the dimensions of a standard, off the shelf, ATL FC152 cell. They came back with a price of $925.00
So much for a low cost alternative to the other two manufactures.
I ordered my FC152 today from SR for $550.00
I'm in the wrong business

Re: Alternate SCCA approved fuel cell manufacturers
That's an great price for the FC152.
I had a Fuel Safe that needed replacement the year before last, and the off-the-shelfs wouldn't fit. ATL was $950-1050 for a replacement to mine (they had to make it custom), and Fuel Safe who had the mold was still in the $875+ range if I remember correctly.
You're right, although Eagle may be slightly cheaper than ATL for a custom, it's not quite in the range we were hoping for. John
