2 days at Daytona

I just spent 2 days at the Daytona SCCA/SARRC races. This was my first time at the track and I had BLAST. Being a NEWBEE, I had no idea what went on in the infield side of a track. It was an amazing thing to see. Cars lining up before the race, others getting impounded after the race, all the volunteers making it all look so easy. I got to meet some great folks and just wanted to thank John and Shawn Mattox for showing me around, giving me some great advice, letting me wrench on their VEE and answering all my NEWBEE questions. I really appreciate all the time you gave me and I hope I was not too much of a pest. I also want to thank Fred Clark for his advice and direction and sharing some of his 30+ years of experience with me as well.

I had a great time, got a little sun burned (it is the SUNSHINE State you know!) but I made some new friends and went home with lots of stories to tell my wife and 2 sons. One thing it did was make me want to get my VEE finished and make it to the next driver school so I can start getting some track time.

Thanks again for a great 2 days that I will always remember.
Here are a couple photos of VEE's at Daytona.
