Thunderbolt Raceway, NJMP

Is it a Short box or long box? Does a 1:22 3rd Short box lug in 3rd gear anywhere? Would a 1:26 3rd Short box be too short?

After everyone using a long box at the national becuase Eugine said that we would need one after last years regional I think that a short box will work and could be faster. I guess we will have to wait until next year's national unless someone uses one at one of the regionals. Rick Shields did ask me about my RPM's at the end of the straights and I did check them and was just into the 6000 before the turns.

Best guess... At the regional Eugene had a long box & I had a short. I was floating the valves at the end of the straight with no drafting partner. In the National; I had a long box and like Ed said, there was room left at the end.
I think the track was a lot greasier for the national (the regional was one of the first races on Thunderbolt).
You couldn't get out of the tight turn leading onto the straight nearly as fast (or at least I couldn't) in the national.
I'm 90% sure the short box would be fine.
