New qulification rules

Post by brian »

True to form, the new rules regarding national point accumulation did NOT make the 2009 GCR. Here's there text from SCCA:

"Please note the following change in Runoffs eligibility in 2009 as you won’t see it reflected in the printed version of the 2009 GCR:

As approved by the BoD in the June Fastrack, change GCR 3.9.1.A to read: Championships shall be determined annually on the basis of a driver’s accumulation of points earned in his or her best performances in a maximum of seven (7) National Championship races. No more than three (3) races shall be outside the division in which the driver’s Region of Record is located.

(***)As approved by the BoD in the June Fastrack, change GCR Section 3.9.2.A paragraph two, to read As a minimum, a driver shall have been classified as a starter in at least four (4) National Championship events in the current race season, of which two (2) shall have been in his or her Division of Record, and a finisher in at least four (4) National Championship events, and qualifying in the same class (or classes) for which their entry is accepted, but they may drive any car eligible for that class.

Finally, I wish you all a successful 2009 Racing Season and I hope to see many of you at our National Championship Runoffs at Road America in September!
