Short Axles ?

I've heard that Vee's use "short axles" how do you identify a short vs a long axle? Is it simply the lenth of the axle?

Yep - the later models used a longer axle and tube. If you get the wrong ones, you'll be 'over track' on the rear. I don't recall what the actual measurements are, but I think the long ones are a bit over an inch longer than "ours". Tough to tell by just looking at them unless you're pretty good. Hold them side by side and it's obvious .

Maybe this will help:

Short axles (FVee)................. 26 3/4" long
Long axles (Not FVee)............. 27 3/4" long

Also our axle tubes have a casting on the outter end that measures approx 3 3/8" long.
(if an outter casting is approx 1" longer than that, it's for a long axle)
