Anybody got information on a Hawke DL8 FSV.

I know that Hawke did a number of FF.

Any information will be appreciated.

A quick google search found this.

I have seen several Hawke DL5's listed for sale over the years. Looking at old FSV registries there listings for DL5's but not DL8.

Sorry I can't hellp you much but you’ve touched on a subject that has been interesting me in the UK for years. Hawkes DL5 and DL8 are certainly listed as SuperVees, the latter 1971-1972 from my source (Mike Kettlewell’s Motor Racing Directory 1979). I have a photo of the DL5 racing in period in Europe by Englishman Tony Roberts which is almost exactly as Lothar Kremer’s car illustrated on the SuperVee Registry website. Fellow UK Vee “historian” has a Hawke SuperVee chassis (I think it’s a DL5). In the UK Hawke did not produce a Formula Vee but two SuperVee chasses were built up as Vees. One won the championship and the other is still in existence and racing in Europe, owned by Vee competitor John Stapleton. Never seen a DL8 in the metal though.

While this site doesn't have a section on FSV, you might email them and ask: http://www.oldracingcars.com/

You could also ask on this forum: http://forums.autosport.com/forumdispla ... forumid=10. Someone there will have some sort of input.

Gentlemen

Thanks for the help, but the car was sold to another guy.

I am looking for a project car to build. If any one runs across a heap of parts waiting to be a car, please contact me. I am interested in any formula car and a supervee would be great.

Harry Schneider had a old Bobsy (FV) for sale at the 45th - don't know what he wants for it - ad said 'make an offer'. I think he'd like to get rid of it. It's at Chris's (his son) place in PA somewhere. He's not on this forum but you can reach him at fv20 at nac.net
