1965 Autodynamics Mark II
I am in the middle of a frame off restoration of a 1965 Autodynamics Mark II. The body is in very good shape but would like to have some new panels. Has anyone made any molds or panels?
The shift linkage at the shifter end is pretty trashed/hacked. Does anyone have any good pictures o good shifter layouts?
We hope to be ready for the start of the CVAR 2010 Season. Any help or advice on this project would be appreciated.
Thanks Chuck

Chuck where are you located? CVAR has a couple of AD in the club, maybe one is near you? Most FV have shifter set up that is similar, so unless you are a "stickler for Originality" most vees get modified over time to better fit various drivers. But we should be able to get you set up with something useful. Let me know how we can help?

Thanks for the reply Ajax. i am currently located in Lawton but we are moving to the OKC/Edmond in the Spring. You are right I am not a stickler for keeping things like the shifter original. I was looking for some pictures of some setups as I am a pretty good fabricator. Are you located in OKC. I am there 2 to 3 times a week for meetings.

Chuck. I have a 1967 Zeitler. John Zeitler, the builder, first bought a Autodynamics and then changed it in several ways until he came up with his own car. Several items are the same. I would be happy to send you some photos of my linkage. I am just finishing it up so I can give you some detailed shots. Let me know what you want and I will get them to you. Going out of town tomorrow but will be back Sunday night. Let me know what you want and I will send them before I leave.

Thanks for the offer Zietler.
What I would like are photos around shifter handle area in Drivers Compartment.

If you need anymore detail photos, just let me know. The car is 20 feet away in the garage.

Here is the shifter end on a 67-69 Zeitler. Pretty much all VW.
Tried uploading photo but it would not go. No real description in the error message. Will upload somewhere else and add a link. I have made the photo small enough but no luck.

That looks just like the shifter on a late 60's Autodynamics 'Deserter GS' that my dad built.
Makes sense being an AutoD FV from the 60's...

I think they tried to use as many VW parts as possible to make the cost lower. It works too!

Chuck , If you shoot down the list of topcs in the vintage vee , you will see a topic called Early Autodynamics ? Click onto that topic and glance down threw the pics . The car pictured there is my Autodynamics Mk 11 . There is a shot of the shifter . My car is pretty much an unmolested, as it was raced in mid 60's . Let me know if i can help with some pics . Later , Scotty
