Thunderbolt Track, Short or Longbox

Post by JimR »

For those that raced, is Thunderbolt a shortbox or longbox track?
Inquiring minds want to know for future planning.

Long Box.

Grimes won, about 1 1/2 sec per lap faster than me. I had a short box, he had a long one :P . I had floating valves by the end of the front straight with no drafting partner. Probably the most boring vee race the fans (and plenty of them) had ever seen. We were all strung-out.

The track is very fast with one decreasing radius, very tight turn.

My only suggestion to those who plan races is to try and get it near the 3rd Friday of the month. Millville has a street festival of sorts each month on the 3rd Friday. Good time.
