Transport

Post by bill_browne »

Can anyone recommend a decent transport service? I'm interested in a vee that's in Phoenix, AZ and would need it shipped to Lake Charles, LA, or maybe Houston.

Also learned of a Arizona based guy:

Desert Eagle Enterprise, Laurence Galeaner, 623-521-2400. He has a three car enclosed trailer and will haul coast to coast.

Did you solve this question? Is the car on a trailer?

Bill,

Where do you plan to race your Vee?

I have a car trailer and truck, let's go get it. I live in Hammond.

Bill's got the car, looking for time to work on it around Ike repairs. Dropped off a couple of old VW manuals for him to use instead of cane stalks, we don't have corncobs in Lousiana. First question was where is the missing seat, latest was how does the shift link attach to the back of the transaxle. Haven't seen the car yet, but the theory is to have it running for next season, that's about six or eight weeks.

I can tell him how some of the things are done for club racing, but last time I tried to Solo a vee was like twenty years ago when they were in D Mod maybe. As I remember, I came off the line in second, shifted to third and never shifted again, but that was with short Hoosier rears on the front and tall Hoosier rears in back with an old Bugspray two barrel on a stock 1600. Don't think that was ever the hot setup.
