race report -
There was heavy rain during the race group before the vees, and that race was red flagged (maybe to clear the workers because of lightning).
The rain stopped before the vees went out on their pace lap, and all the vees were on slicks as the track was by then drying.
Doug Hannum took the lead coming out of T1, but was passed by Doug Voss before the carousel. However, Doug Voss spun when he hit a stream of water running across T8, and dropped to a distant last.
Pole sitter Bill Saltenberger got a bad start and fell back to somewhere around 8th place.
A lead group of Doug Hannum, Erik Oseth, and Bob O'Connor pulled clear and battled for the entire race, with Oseth and Hannum exchanging the lead several times.
Dan Voss was running in 4th, but both Saltenberger and Doug Voss were charging back forward.
Saltenberger caught Dan Voss in the second half of the race and they battled over the 4th position for the rest of the race.
Dan Voss passed Saltenberger in T1 on the last lap and held on to take 4th.
Tammy Oswald, Hugh Maloney, John Maloney, Jack Maloney, and John Berres formed a massive group fighting behind the Saltenberger/Voss battle for a good part of the race with Oawald, Hugh Maloney, and Berres all taking the front at aome point.
However, Tammy Oawald was in front at the finish for 7th place.
Doug Voss charged back thru the field, including working thru that massive battle, to take 6th.
The lead group went across the finish line three wide, with Oseth just barely winning over O'Connor.
