Is that $139,000 for everything you listed, or just the Danville property?

I don't know the market in your area, but it sounds like a good deal!
My house has been on the market for a little while now, as me and the wife would like a place with some land. Don't know if she would want to move to VA.

YIKES! Out here in the Portland, OR area a 6000sf bare lot in a subdivision can go for more than that!

This sounds like a dream come true.

Don't get yer hopes up i still can't do it, but that kind of package would go for a million.2 here in the napa valley.

I took a look at the Danville website, and it looks like the town has some charm. I also see that the big mill closed down.

What do y'all do fer work down there?

Need any teachers?

Zack,

There has been a lot of interest, both local folks and as far away as Chicago. Even though the mill has closed down, we have a Goodyear plant, Corning, Nestle, Owens-Brockway, Swedwood (manufactures Ikea furniture) plus the new Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (partnership with Virginia Tech). We have a full college (Averett University) and Danville Community College, and many secondary schools. One really sweet thing is the taxes in the county are real low (2007 bill was $563.50 for the entire year) and utilities are reasonable ($130 for the last month, house and shop are all electric). I've enjoyed living in this area since 1987 and have seen a lot of changes in 20 years. This home is my fourth since I moved here, and I have hated parting with each one. I'm moving to Chendu, China to be with my new bride and will be teaching technical english part-time, to keep my mind sharp :P

Effective 5:30pm today, I have a signed contract, cash sale, full price with closing scheduled in a week to 10 days. I appreciate everyone's interest. In the end, it was purchased by a local older couple who have little to no knowledge or interest in the Formula Vees. I will be certain they get some help in either selling all the FV stuff as a lot or parting it all out.

I will always have fond memories of the FV community. Good health and good fortune to everyone.

Paul,

Closing is set for Feb 26, so I hope they haven't started to sell anything yet :P I have advised them about this forum and other outlets for selling any/all of the FV items. Since this past weekend, they have developed an interest in maybe racing the vintage Warrior. Once I cranked it up and they looked it over completely, I saw that gleam in their eyes..... anyway, will have to wait and see what they are going to do.
