starter - what's everyone use

Post by turbospl311 »

Hi, I seem to kill starters. They seem to get weak after a year of so. Any recommendations? What's everyone use?

Thanks, Don Miller

You might try the high torque starter that Race Car Supply sells. I bought one for the "Beach", but it doesn't clear the headers. I will use it on one of the other cars. I don't have any problems with the stock starter for the dual port engine.

Lynn, You can rotate the HiTorque starter in 90 degree increments. Have you tried that?

Yes, we did. The problem is not just the header, but also a removable bar which supports the zero roll tower. If either were a little different, the starter would fit. But with two other cars in the shop, the starter will get used.
