At the Solo Town Hall, we were told that a decision on the site of the 2009 Nationals would be announced on or before Oct. 15th. Also, we were told that there would be a very to the point survey sent to the 2008 Nationals entrants which would determine the site. Apparently, a presentation was made that same day involving the airport at Lincoln, NE. So, now the decision will possibly be later than Oct. 15th.
The Chamber of Commerce of Topeka has raised the money to pay of Ray Irwin and keep the Nationals at HPT for 2009, but no longer than that. The Truman Sports Complex in Kansas City has been eliminated because the Royals couldn't guarantee the dates far enough in advance. There are supposed to be three or four other sites in consideration besides Blytheville and Lincoln. I have no idea where they are.
