Tire pressures?

Post by mityfast »

I am running BFG G-force KDW street tires on my '65 Huron (205 55ZR 15).
What pressures would you recommend i start with for my first autocross attempt with her?

Boy, that's a tough question. I'm totally guessing, but try 25 rear and 20 front. Then look at the tread and sidewall after the first run. If the tire didn't roll onto the sidewall at all, then lower the pressure. White shoe polish will help to see how far the tire flexes.

You might not be able to get enough heat in those tires to make them stick well--especially in the front.

Let us know how they work.

I would use the old shoe polish on the sidewalls trick to see how far the tire is rolling and then adjust from there.

I'd weld a trailer hitch to the back, and tow a set of sticky tires to each event.....
