So after meeting a lot of people at the Autobahn event I have decided to restore the car to Vintage spec, rather than AutoX spec. I think the cost is going to be about the same. I will not have to swap to disk brakes and upgrade the rack, but I will have to spend more on the motor. That has been my sticking point, spending good money on an old very low power engine. Race fees are much higher you can AutoX all day for $30. But anyway we are going to give it a go. So the plan in to have it ready for the School in April/May 2010.

One point that might be an issue, I do not have a log book. Do you need a log book to race VSCDA?

There are been no success in identifying the chassis so it's a home built. The Sawzall blades have already been flying:)

So the plan

1. Change cockpit so I can get into the thing by raising the center hoop.
2. Raise the rear hoop for more head clearance
3. Build rear engine mounting frame
4. Build trailing arms
5. Relocate the steering box.

Simple really.

What do I need first

1. Wheels
2. Rear Shocks

So if anyone in the Chicago area has wheels or rear shocks to sell let me know.
