Formcar exhaust headers

Post by renbarb »

Help, I need a set of exhaust headers for a 65 Formcar I am attempting to put on the track this summer, 08. I would like to buy a new set, both sides, or borrow an existing set to be used as a pattern..thanks for the help..Reynold (Renny) Watt..in Oregon

I believe original Formcar had 4 individual exhaust pipes exiting out the rear, as did other early Vees. This design while producing power did so in a very limited RPM range, and with a vees limited gear ratios this design was obsoleted very quickly as it was found other header pipe designs with collectors pulled better through a broader RPM range. Also Exhaust headers were always an open item in SCCA for FV, So you need to decide what era you restoring the vee to.

Most of the companies who support this site I'm sure can help with new or used systems that with some work could fit a Formcar. Roxanne makes state of the art stainless steel system for many of the top vee guys today. Good luck.

And, I'll second Ajax's suggestion to give the Vee specialists who support our board a try. Good guys, all of them.
