Pocono F-Vee Challenge Cup

Post by gdavis »

The weather was beautiful and the racing was clean and intense for the Pocono round of the Formula Vee Challenge Cup Series. With the field split about 50/50 between those running on used slicks and the Falken radials, everybody had someone to race with.
Matt Clark took the win in the Saturday qualifying race, with Bill Hannum walking away with the win for the featured F-Vee Challenge Cup race on Sunday.
The Saturday evening pizza party was very well attended with much bench racing accomplished by all. A big F-Vee Challenge Cup thanks go out to the Maloney Racing group who organized the delivery and purchased the pizza, Vintage Sport AutoArt, who provided beverages and Series sponsor Complemar Partners Inc., for providing the prize money for the first three finishing positions for that day’s qualifying race. As an added bonus, Ray Carmody was also beautifully serenaded to the tune of “Happy Birthday” as part of the festivities and all were treated to birthday cake courtesy of Rob DePalma.
Next on the calendar is the Fun One event at Watkins Glen Sept. 13/14. Should be another great round of Vee racing and camaraderie –see you there!
