Autumn Challenge Cup Award Ceremony/Group Photo

Post by gdavis »

We will be having the Vee Autumn Challenge Cup awards ceremony shortly after the second race on Saturday afternoon Oct. 19th At the Nelson Spook-tacular Quad. For those interested in participating in the ceremony, photo shoot and cash prize drawing here are the logistics of how this is all going to be handled:
After the race, all cars coming in off the track should proceed as if forming up for the false grid but stop on either side of the access road just before the spectator tower (not blocking the road in case anyone in the last race group is trying to get to the grid). We will wait here until the final race is done and then get back in the cars and proceed down the false grid & pit lane to the start/finish line area. Drivers will get out of their cars, and we will first hold the five cash prize drawings. Directly after the drawings the Vee Autumn Challenge Cup trophies will be presented to the drivers in the top three points positions in the standings.
After the trophies are presented, drivers will then get back in their cars, headed by the three trophy recipients. We will all drive out on the track, making a hard left back under the bridge, going towards the last turn. The photographer will stop the three lead cars where he wants to shoot and the following cars will be placed in a staggered order behind them. Drivers will be asked to step from their cars and stand next to them with helmets at their sides for the group photo, with the top three drivers’ holding their trophies. Once the photographer has gotten his shots, drivers will get back in their cars and proceed towards the last turn, make another sharp left and use the pit-in access road to return to their paddock areas and attend the food and beer party put on by the NEOHIO Region if they wish.
This scenario is based on good weather and may have to be altered accordingly.
All photos will be available for purchase from the photographer.
Also, don’t forget that Sunday’s final race will be in celebration of F-Vee’s 50th year and is the featured race of the Quad weekend. Don’t miss out on your final chance for some wheel-to-wheel classic Vee racing for 2013.
