2013 Vee Autumn Challenge Cup Updates

Post by gdavis »

There have been many positive developments revolving around the upcoming Vee Autumn Challenge Cup Series and we wanted to share them with potential entrants.

1. For both the “Golden Harvest” event (Sept. 28/29) and the “Quad” (Oct.19/20) at Nelson Ledges, we have negotiated with the event chairmen of each event to have us put on the schedule as having our own group. The proviso is we must get 15 cars, minimum paid entries for each event.

2. Also, after conversations with the race chairman for the “Fun One” at Watkins Glen (Sept. 14/15), he has spoken with the SOM’s and we have been granted a split start combined with the First’s for each race that weekend.

3. Former F-Vee competitor Rob DePalma and his firm Complemar Partner’s Inc., has generously come forward to provide free Vee Autumn Challenge Cup Series t-shirts to all entrants. These will be available at each 2013 event.

4. Long time Formula-Vee enthusiasts and competitors Hugh and John Maloney will be handing out a $100.00 “cash award” to one lucky Challenge Cup competitor over the Nelson Quad weekend.

5. At the Nelson “Quad”, our final Sunday race will be the “Marquee” event of the weekend in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the class, with an honorary pace lap included. Also, if we can get 20 Vee’s entered, NEOhio Region will deduct $25.00 from each entry fee. We have also been given our own “Vee Corral”. It will be located in the shaded area near the overpass bridge inside Turn 1.
And, our season ending Championship awards ceremony will take place at the winner’s podium located across from the track start/finish line Saturday after noon when racing has been completed for the day.

There will be future updates as more Series developments happen and we will post these as they occur. We are looking forward to some intense competition and a good time, so if you haven’t already, start making plans now to compete in the 2013 Vee Autumn Challenge Cup Series!
