Yep, it is now a short box track. Still very fast, though.

I never ran there until that event, but I thoroughly enjoyed the layout. There was still a slight issue re-entering the oval on the backstretch due to the concrete strip for the Safer barrier (especially when pouring rain), but that is going to be fixed. It's glass-smooth everywhere, is plenty wide. Very much worth a trip.

Coming off the front stretch, it has a blind double apex right hand sweeper than is really fast. Like, breathe the throttle & maybe just touch the brakes to settle the car. Then it goes into the left-right-left-right corners to get to the backstretch, nothing too wild there. Then thru the tunnel turn & down the Long Pond Straight. Killer draft options. Then, and this I really like, the infield section that bypasses oval T1. It comes off the backstretch thru the standard chicane area, but can be taken quicker than most people realize. It goes up over a crest in a kink to the right, into a braking zone that makes it tricky to find a proper line into a left hander, which immediately sets up the tighter right corner onto the frontstretch. 4th gear the whole way, except the very last turn. Very fun in a pack, makes a good Vee track now.
