Double national at COTA

There will be a double national at the Circuit of the Americas on March 7,8,9. A bit of a tow but quite a track.

I see other sites discussing an event on Feb 22-24. The March date would work in nicely with the March Double National at Road Atlanta.
Anybody who knows, please update.

Now I hear March Double National at Road Atlanta is a Double Regional. That will change the plans if a lot of travellers who make Road Atlanta their season opener. Not many will travel there in May when racing has begun at home. Takes away the COTA-RA back to back option for those interested. Anybody confirm the RA change?

I suspect that is some MISinformation and that it has only been changed to be a Rational, rather than a National. I'm checking now and will update as soon as I get a reply.

Perhaps an over-reaction .... perhaps an appropriate reaction. Time will tell. It seems a hasty response to change around a date that has been established for decades!

There certainly will not be many out-of-division travellers if they run the National in May.
