Thanks Hughie! I had a fun weekend but wish I had more time to speak with you! We had several
issue's with the car and it took away from my free time. Ray and I had a blast on the damp track
Saturday and it seemed I would throw it off the track on every lap trying to keep up with him!
Thanks again and have a nice off-season!

More than a dozen Vees at a fun little track on a nice October weekend in Ohio! Thats what FV is supposed to be about and what it rarely is today.
Who needs wheel covers?
Great job guys!

Greg:

We had twelve vee's on Sunday which is the largest number for a regional in several years! Earlier this year, we
had 17 Vee's at the Nelson National and 17 at the M-O National, but the regional numbers have suffered!

Chris, From your video it looks like you had an interesting pace lap for race 2! I hate it when that happens ! Just an aside also, you might want to check your rear suspension as you appeared to be pretty loose in places and whatever it is might have contributed to your spin in the Kink. Not sure what happened there though, you and Rich S. were pretty close.
It was a great race weekend once the track dried and I could start to get acclimated to Nelson again. Had a blast dicing with Jack M. and Rich S. in the final on Sunday - one of the best races I've ever been in.
Hughie - Thanks for taking the time to post the results.
Maybe we should try to build on this for an event (or two) at Nelson for next year and see if we can't network to get an even bigger field of Vee's.

Greg, that is a great idea for next year. We could shoot for a big Vee field and our own race group. The Quad Regional is a great deal and it is always fun to race at Nelson Ledges. I had 2 other Formula Vees schedule to come out but some problems came up and they had to cancel. Two Quad weekends would be great. One Great Lakes and one NEDIV.
Have a good off season,
Hughie
PS Chris needs a new rear shock and VSR is building it. Hope he doesn't go too fast, I'm slowing and getting older.

Hughie,
I really like your idea of organizing a two race "series" at Nelson. If we could get each entrant for this years race to recruit at least one other entrant we could get a decent sized field and hopefully our own group. Maybe we could organize it similar to what D.C. area Vee enthusiast's have done at Summit Point. At the very least, it would be nice to ask the organizing region for an area be set aside for the Vee's to centrally paddock (if so choosing) and maybe have an after Sat. race get together etc., etc.
There are lots of possibilities(dedicated trophies?)and we have the whole off season to plan it and come up with ideas.
Anybody else out there interested?

I bent the beam in the first race when I ran into Jack, so we got the car as straight as we could for the rest of the races but it wasn't exactly straight. That probably contributed the most to the looseness. The people beind me thought it was entertaining

And the spin with Rich in the kink was just close racing and some inexperience on my part. I had enough room to go side by side but I got on the curb and lifted a little, and that put the RF tire in the grass and I got sucked off. If I hadn't had lifted I probably would have been fine.
