Rick was hit from behind on lap 2 at turn 1. He had some damage and could not keep going.
Dale and Dave had car problems. I think they stopped running on track.
Chris Elwell had transmission problems all race.

Formula Vee was the second largest class (SRF was larger)

Dave had engine problems in qualifying, and I'm told, also in the race, I went off on lap 20(?) from second place, in turn 10, and got hung up in the gravel. Rick Shields went off the same time I did, but managed to keep going. Roger, Rick, Jonathan, and I Had a pretty good race, with lots of position changes. I didn't talk with Rick Ruckman after the race, so I don't know why he pulled off. Dale.

I lost a clutch slave cylinder at the Double National at VIR two weeks previous so replaced it with a new Wilwood unit. During the race Sunday the two halves unscrewed completely so I lost all ability to shift (only real race car drivers can shift without a clutch!). Never considered checking the tightness of a slave cylinder as preventative maintenance but it is now on my list...
