What are the pros and cons of taking 50 thou off the pistons and cylinders?

Pro:
Takes weight off the top
Brings ring up closer to the top of the piston

Con:
Potentially weakens the top if you take too much

There may be others, but I think that's the main idea

.050 off the top of the pistons is quite normal. .100 would probably be the limit with some chance of failure.
