Starter Length

Post by BLS »

I know the "Hi Torque" starter weighs less. Does any replacement have a shorter length? My original VW 6 volt is slightly less than 7 inches from the flange mount. It looks like from some pictures I have seen that there may be a shorter version available. Anyone know? And if so, what is the length?

Thanks,
Barry

Thanks Dave! Looks like the middle one is a bit shorter. If you have a chance to measure I would certainly appreciate it.

The HI-Torque is 6.25" from the flange to the farthest point away.

It appears to be a stock 12V Gear Vw starter.

6.14 pounds? Stock? That doesn't sound right.

That is a 12volt starter. You will need to install the proper starter drive to use it on a VEE. LRE sells them.
