Engine Tin/Deflectors

There is a post back in 06 where Dietmar recomends using the lower cylinder tin for a fan cooled engine. I am building an engine for a FST car that I got "minus motor", it will be "scoop cooled" from the top down. The sides and bottoms of the cylinders will be open to the breezes. Should I still use the deflector tin under the cylinders in this case? Thanks for your help and advice.

Dietmar still recommends that you use the deflectors- fan cooled or not to get the air around the bottom of the cylinders.

Others may have a different opinion.

Dietmar is still correct. If you are cooling from the top, you want the deflectors in place.
