Question for Vintage Vees in Vintage Racing Group

I have a 67 AD Mark IV I am restoring. I notice The VRG runs at tracks close to me.
The motor on the car has a stock cooling shroud with Generator. The Generator
has been gutted and the belt tension is real loose. I notice in the VRG rules state
that all cars must have a charging system. Do any of you guys run in VRG?
I need help on getting this car set-up correctly.

I run with VSCDA and we follow (?) Monoposto racing rules for car prep. The question mark means that some folks don't seem to closely follow the rules. Most do, I think, even though there are some that will do anything for a couple of horsepower.

Here's what the Monoposto Vintage Vee Class Spec says about electrical:

Electrical System
1. Fitting of any standard VW distributor [or replica; see paragraph II.B. on page 33].
2. The fan belt may run at any desired tension.
3. Either a 6 volt or 12 volt electrical system may be used. The generator, armature, brushes, and voltage regulator must all be in place and functioning. Nothing must be done to interfere with the normal battery charging function of the generator.

I run a FV with VRG and we only have a few FVs running with us currently. At some races I may be the only one running.

We would allow a gutted generator (I have one on my AD Mk I currently), until/unless you're as fast or faster than the FFs and then we'd start looking.

Please come out and play, as we need more FVs.
