Crossle FSV For Sale

Post by Ski-Motorsports »

We have a Crossle FSV for sale. This is an air-cooled car that ran in FC and AutoCross. It has new pistons, cylinders and fresh heads. We can deliver it to the Formula Vee 45th Birthday Party, ready to race.

Check http://www.ski-motorsports.com under cars for sale. I can also email more pictures.

thanks

This is a 50F that was converted to a FSV by Chuck Tame from Pennsylvania in the early 80's. It ran many regionals in Western PA as a Formula Continental. We ran it in autocross in B-Mod with many class wins and LTODs. If you are interested in a purchase please email me at info@ski-motorsports.com

Just to set the record straight, Chuck did finish it off, but it was built by Frank Reciniti when he worked at Skip Barber Racing. He took a Lola and a Crossle and made a Crossola or a Loossle? Don't know if this adds or detracts from the value <grin>

From http://www.motorsport.com/news/article. ... M-GRANDCUP

Farnbacher Loles team manager Frank Resciniti was crew chief for Jorg Bergmeister in 2006, when he won the Rolex Series DP championship. Bergmeister is driving the No. 86 (Power) Porsche this weekend. Resciniti was also crew chief for the Corvette car that finished fourth overall in the 2001 Rolex 24. Two of the team's drivers were Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Chris, thanks for the update, I knew that somebody working for Barber had started this project but never had his name. This explains why it looks like a "pro built car" because a pro built it :) Value increase in my book.

The real value of the car was slashed by the SCCA when they cut FSV from FC. I suspect the F2000 guys pushed to have it removed because they knew that if somebody ever mounted a serious national effort with a car like this it would be at the top of the result sheets. At 1060 pounds and 185hp this car is a blast to drive and at $6500 it is half the price of a vintage FSV.

It is not on the Monoposto Rules list since it is a "one-off" but the Lola "half" is listed there as well has a 24F Crossle, so they should at least listen to your request if you wanted to run vintage. True it has in-board front shocks but with the oil coolers hanging out on the sides I doubt the wind-tunnel would see any advantage.

As a hill-climb or autocross car with a 2300cc type-1 engine it would certainly be fun to drive.

We will part it out if it is not sold by the 45th BD event. Several people want to make an F1000 with it. thanks Paul

Is this the engine in it? Or does it have a Type IV?
I'd love to see more pics.
