Re: Spindle Teathers ?????

I think Bob will make spindles BUT they need to make 10pr at a time. When I talked to him in February he said people just wanted to buy cheap Chinese spindles. It took him several years to sell the last run. The good thing is his spindles don't break.

Re: February meeting

I am absolutely opposed to the committee asking SCCA Enterprises for an estimate to build intake manifold.. We the Club has propped up that entity for 25 years with millions, yes millions of dollars and should have no dealings with them. The damage they have done to the organization is immeasurable....

For those of you with a Han's and want to try the 2" belts give Tim at Safe Quip a call, he will make new shoulder straps only for you. What he will do is take a 3' belt fold and sew it over so it is 2" and add a non-slip fabric on the back to help keep the belt in place. Can also custom se...

Robert has a new Bosch starter for sale on the First site. It is a very good price and can be converted to a 6 volt drive for use on a Vee.

It seems to me the newest and least experienced people in this class WHINE the most. Maybe they should get some experience keep the oil in their car's and keep them on the track.

Re: Tires?

OK I crewed on a F2000 East car all season. Let's look at the spec tire. $950 per set but that did include mounting and balancing. F2000 series limits a competitor to 6 tires for official qualifying and the two races per weekend. Unlimited tires for the test day and practice. We used 2 SETS for test...

Re: Gel cell batteries

Gel -AGM batteries need a special charger for extended life. The charge at a much higher voltage than a wet cell battery. Most are of a 3 stage type charging to 80% at one voltage then going higher to bring the battery to about 95% them another voltage to top it off in what is called a float mode. G...

Re: New Front Spindles

This is kind of a funny discussion, people have been breaking and complaining about spindles breaking for years. Bob Lybarger stepped up to the plate several years ago and had spindles and drums made and approved to be used in our class. Nobody bought them (well very few people) I don't think anyone...

Love My Beer!

I love my Beer. I always have, that is why I have a hard time making minimum weight. So I made another run of starter drives so you can shed up to 7 lbs. off your starter. This drive will fit Bosch permanent magnet starters. See it at the Run-Offs in row 9 between Mikey the chef and Mikey The June S...

I would be careful mixing 110 and Av gas, you might want to test it for legality before you are asked to give a sample. I think you will be surprised to see it will fail SCCA tests.

Re: Oil Sump Rule Change

Great write up Jim. I am in favor of dry sumping our motors. I think extending the sump or upping the capacity would be like pissin' in your pants it will give you a nice warm feeling until the smell kicks in. For a one time cost of less than $400 you are done. Jim can correct the prices but about $...

Check with Bob or Jim, for a while the chrome wheels were out of spec. and there was a problem mounting race tires on them. You would have to run the 4 1/2" wheels on all axles.

Re: Homologation papers question

Depending on the age of the car and how much digging they have to do SCCA may just issue a replacement for the new paper price. Lot's of their records are in storage and they tend to be pretty lazy. That's what they did for me.

Get in a crash and you might choke on the thing. That's why the GCR tells old guys to take their false teeth out before racing.
