Re: New Mysterian Trailing Arm

I don't have a pic.....don't know how to post a pic on this site. It is new, black, and without a single scratch.
The ONE arm attaches to the rear of the frame.

New Mysterian Trailing Arm

I have one brand new Mysterian trailing arm. It is perfect without even a scratch on it. It is the improved model with the added support for the downlink Heim/bolt. I believe the current price is near $200. I am asking $125 plus shipping.

What's your idea of "a fair price" on a new Mysterian trailing arm? This is the later one with double shear for the downlink.

New Blueprinted Engine Case...SOLD (long time ago)

This is the very heavy aluminum case. Cylinder seats are decked parallel and equidistant to centerline of main brg. bores, which are checked along with cam bores. Has oil baffle and tube for deep sump installed. I built it, but no one wanted the extra weight, so I tore it back down and transferred e...

Just got done listing some C&A pins, and started looking around the shop. There's a reason my shop is looking smaller.... I GOT TOO MUCH STUFF! From dinky stuff like new dykes rings, carbs, heads, matched and prepped cyl. sets, engines, and cars....I either need to make some deals or put up anot...

Lightweight Chromoly Piston Pins

Sorting through some of my stash, and I find that I have an abundance (hopefully more than I could ever use) Childs & Albert Chromoly Piston Pins. These pins all weigh very close to 62 grams, and are a great way to get you piston/pin weight down to or near the 330 gr. min. reducing reciprocating...

I have had a Craftsman pc. that fits a 1/2" ratchet or extension and works perfectly. Got it about 40 yrs. ago, and don't have a part # for it.....sorry. If need be, I fit it on one of the old "slam hammer" style impact tools to break the screw loose. I agree on not liking the chisel....

I have pulled those out of stock engines where they were SHATTERED! That goes back to when I was building them in MI, so it is over 35 years ago, but I will not use them. When I learned they were going to those, I went on a buying spree, and now have well over 100 sets of brgs. on the shelf. Prices ...

Thank you, SMSAZZY. I always wondered just HOW MUCH Mag the As41 case had. That is more than I would have guessed, but it explains why it was SO bright when I had some chips light off while machining one on the B'port! Get's pretty exciting.

Re: Velocity stack screen

A couple of thoughts: I know that in the past many race cars used screen on their stacks. Many of the CanAm cars topped off their Weber or injection stacks with them, BUT if you have a chance, try that setup on a flow-bench, and I think you will be surprised. The screen wire takes up approx. 10% of ...

Back about 15 years ago, I bought up most of those original Hoosier 45s (the ones that were so soft they were pickng up the track rubber at speed at the Mid Ohio Runoffs). I came up with the brainstorm that they would make great inters. Bought me a grooving tool, and got after it. Had em back at Mid...

Re: Unleaded Gas

I caution the use of street pump gas. While our compression ratio is very low, we need higher octane than you would otherwise expect for a variety of reasons. Our carburetors, being the 36 hp model were built in the mid 50s to August of 1960. Somewhere around 65, VW started installing a little devic...

I don't believe we can automatically say that Chinese steel is inferior. I have purchased Chinese chrome moly H beam rod sets that match Carillo rods on every point. They are said to be capable of handling 500 hp VWs, and show terrific workmanship. Ohh yeah...4 of them set you back $179! I have some...
