Re: hard clutch?

Great point the shipping clips in the pressure plate need to be removed. It is shipped already compressed.... until you remove the clips to retract the fingers.

Re: Official 2011 FV Runoffs Discussion

Does anyone know of their crew members/drivers that assisted my car during the Runoffs? I was black flagged to come into the pits for my nose cone dragging on the ground and these people literally "ran" over with duct tape, fixed the nose and I was allowed to get back on track. If it was n...

Re: Transmission

I have had that before and it was with the diaphram clutch the morning I showed up to the track. At least you found it before you got there. I pulled the motor and put in a 3 finger clutch and there was no issues after that. The diaphram clutch was not engaging, not sure why. If the slave cylinder i...

Re: Official FV Discussion: SCCA Runoffs 2010

How has it worked out with parking? Are they offering any places that you do not have to pay for and not have to drive 2 miles to get to the grid while dodging golf carts, tow vehicles and aimless wanderers?

I expect Bruce to be making a large leap tomorrow in the am session....

Re: Official FV Discussion: SCCA Runoffs 2010

Huge gap between 1st and 10th. Usually during the Sprints and the CAT small groups of cars are relatively close on times. Any strategies during qualifying that might have effected that? Were there large groups running together or was it spread out? Also, how many people are on the new Hoosiers? Mike...

Bill, why do you not want First to go National? Are your plans for the class to stay as a Regional Series?

Re: My letter about the FV spec intake

Bruce, When the Aussies went to the spec manifold, did they have to make any improvements/changes to carb, heads, etc.... Can you give us a bit more info if you have it, as to what other factors might need to be addressed with this proposed change and what additional debates this could lead to down ...

If you weigh votes or opinions by such factor of "seniority" or "active participation" then you contradict providing new comers to the class with equality... that alone could deter newcomers from purchasing a Vee and wanting to race with us..... Just making a statement that we ha...

Fuel Cell for sale

Fuel Safe 5 gallon, fuel cell manufacture date 03-93. Have no use for it anymore, has been used in a Citation. Needs flanges but the cell and foam is in decent condition. Make offer.

Tried posting pics, email me if you want me to send some.

Thanks,

Re: Long box or short box - if you could only have one?

Come on Bob, its not that much work. Ask Bruce, about 2 years ago I would do a gearbox change just about every race weekend.... at the track.... between qualifying and the race.... My point is once you learn the car and make things accessible and easy to work with, its not that much work... just the...

I also have 10lbs of ballast in the car. So my Miller Lite and Hot Wings diet works well, give it a try!

Talk with Mike Beaumia about it since he makes most of the exhaust systems up here in the CenDiv. Varacins can also offer some good insight.

Re: Formula Vee Meeting during the Runoffs

Simple............ add "another" class to the SCCA. Like they dont have enough already! FV drivers that wanted all these changes in the past went the route of FST. Apparently this has not been taken as an option to a resonable amount of FV drivers. Keep your cars, sell off the FV motor/dri...

Bob, Great timing, I noticed you are from Wisconsin. We have a race this coming weekend, July 26th & 27th at Road America in Elkhart Lake. The best thing you could do is drive up to the track and see the different type of Formula Vees in the pits and on track. We should have a really good race t...

I purchased a Hans last winter after speaking with other FV drivers that currently had them. Most of my opinions were the same as anyone who has not used one yet and for what it is worth, there is no excuse to not "invest" in one. I did not think I needed one, it was too heavy, too expensi...
