Is registration at the building by the entrance, or by the red classroom buildings. Also, is there a Saturday night dinner, we're trying to figure out how much food we should bring, we should arrive late Thursday night. around 10 or so

Re: Axle or Drum Leak?

We didn't replace the large washer behind the bearing: we found the large O ring to be ripped, and the paper gasked to be really worn down, so we just replaced the seals and not the washer. It hasn' t leaked yet.
Thanks Matt for helping me out, and everyone else for their diagnosis and tips,
Steven

Re: Axle or Drum Leak?

OK, I jacked up the offending side and spun the wheel, the drum did not get closer/further to the backing plate, and the axle nut was not loose when I took the cotter pin out. THus, I beleive this is from over filling, we did put a whole lot of oil in, I am going to take the drum apart tomorrow and ...

Axle or Drum Leak?

Hey everyone, My car was recently put together and gone through, and last weekend after coming off track, I noticed oil on the bottom of my tire, and there was a trail coming from the axle or drum down to the ground/tire. Is this gear oil somehow getting down the tube from the transmission? I don't ...

Now Come on now, tell me you've never took a whiff of new tires eh? :P I actually came home from work ,and I guess they were out in the sun w/out packaging, so I smelled sw...

When my car is handling the way I like, hopefully I can get some good sessions in, it looks like I'll be using a zip tie for the throttle stopper, oh well, maybe Ill use 2. haha. Ray Qualls car drafts really well by the way, I got passed by the F500, Voss, Fultz, and then Ray, I had to go to the out...

wow, 1.31.6 nice! no wonder I couldn't catch you Saturday! I think I'll be able to get down in the high 20's, low 30's, the car should be able to, if I can get more than one lap in at a time! I'll be sleeping in my trailer too.
Thanks for checking about the NOvice Permits

See you out there,

Matt, I'll bring out the engine parts, do you want the Split case tranny too? Thanks for calling and checking, do you know if Dave is gonna come? I'm going to have Ed weld on a bar that stops my pedal from flopping down at me, the tie wrap broke, that's why I pulled off after T1 our last race, but t...

Re: Summit Point July 17. 18 & 19

Will they let me run on my SCCA Novice Permit? If so, I'll register soon. I just ordered some lightly Used Hoosier R55 compound so I'm pretty excited to use them instead of the old Goodyears I was using that have been pushed around garages for months. - Matt, should I bring the engine parts I have f...

Re: Possible way to reach out to a younger audience

Yeah, because all I did was crash my way through karts, and still was able to finish out of top 3 once in 3 years, so my dad wants me to risk the FV drivers safety and cars, not his friends. Nope, that's not it at all. He wants me to drive it this year, but he just got brand new shocks, diffuser,eng...

Re: Possible way to reach out to a younger audience

In regards to the Vee being a stepping stone to your learning curve.. It certainly is. You will learn a lot. However, as far as it getting you the kind of exposure you need to get to pro levels (if that is your goal), Vee is a waste of time. You will need lots of money and exposure in a winged clas...

Re: Possible way to reach out to a younger audience

I'm 16 and just bought my own FV with my own cash from working, I ran out of money, then my dad stepped in and helped. My Dad has a FC, and we're going to start taking both cars to shows around here, although they're mostly American Muscle, there are plenty of Triumphs and stuff there. My friends th...

Re: WTB- Vista or Predator Mid-Section

Hi Lynn, I bought 2 noses from Paul, so maybe theres a mid section and tail laying around. My car blew its engine at drivers school, so I finished the school in an ITA Civic, I think I got the 3rd fastest time in my group, and 3rd in my race out of 10 or 13 somethin like that. I bought an engine fro...

Re: HANS vs. DEFENDER

Good thing I bought my Defender before the lawsuit! I could not feel it at all in the car by the way, felt good, and comfortable. The design does seem to mirror HANS, but made out of different material, and uses the green siding for protection so you don't strain your neck in side impacts.

Wow,
My father had a similar crash like that in his Continental (locked wheels with a FF down chute), but cartwheeled accross the tire walls.
my thoughts and prayers go out to Harry's recovery, and may it be quick.

Re: Predator Exhaust and Zero ROll

I looked at the pics of the car, It is beautiful, and in great shape 5500 was a great deal, good luck! The chassis is based on that car, but Steve Cole removed the frame where the "sidepods" would go, thus the car is flat down the side. My father and I had to chop off the extra horizontal ...
