Nope. You have to provide your own. I did say "please", so I guess that means the $1000 is optional ...it's worth every penny when you need it.

FV with CCS @ Mid Ohio - July 1-3, 2016
I have spoken with Ray Carmody and he has spoken with a group of the CCS (FV Challenge Cup Series) entrants. With some trepidation, they have decided to welcome us (regular slick shod FV) to join them at the FRP event July 4th weekend. There is one proviso however - all drivers must JOIN CCS Associa...

Spindle Checking device
As I was checking one of my spindles yesterday, I thought I should share my 'device' info with the group - then I remembered I already did some time back (years). This morning, I decided to double check for my post and it appears that although I did build a web page for it, I never got around to act...

The car looks nice, but what is "this price"? I don't see it listed anywhere.
Sorry for your loss. Hopefully, someone will snap this car up.

Re: Majors - RA 19-20 Mar
Yes, I believe those are the correct results. The SCCA website ( http://www.scca.com/events/1981152-majors-road-atlanta ) does NOT have the corrected finish order up for the Sunday race. Mitch broke his shifter in 10A/B on the last lap and Donnie and Dale both got by him. Also, in the Sunday race, J...

John, Just some minor updates to your report. We qualified on Friday afternoon too and I got fastest lap there (44.2) .. which stood for the entire weekend. There was a SNAFU at S/F on Saturday... as we were getting the last lap WHITE, the lead FF's were JUST behind the last FV.. and Start DIDN'T ge...

Re: Transponder location
Otherwise, there is no (SCCA) rule where on the car it should be located.. except for the possibility of spec classes like SRF and FE - which are apparently under discussion by SCCA.

Jason, Kinda looks to me like the body tag says "LOURKY." instead of "LOL, KY". You might try sand blasting or wire brushing .. or even SANDING that tag. Perhaps that is the "name" of the car. Looks like a nice ENGRAVED plate - not stamped. Picture looks like mid 60's o...

Re: Help with Trailer Tie Downs
Jeff, For my car, I use one 3" ratchet (could be fixed) strap in the front - tied to one of the lower turkey legs. In the rear, I use TWO heavy duty ratchet straps .. one on each axle tube. In my case the trailer end of the rear strap is not very far outside the track, so I CROSS the straps to ...

Doug, Sorry I missed this post back in October. There is quite a bit of info on the Nardi and it's owners and origin on the FormulaVee.us website (couple of links directly from the home page. Also check the FV History links on the left side). Jan Brundage (Hubert's son, I think) currently owns the N...

OK... as stated, I have researched this and actually spoke to Tom on the phone earlier today. I have verified the story... he had an accident on a sailboat when the wind changed suddenly, swinging the main boom around at high speed and catching Tom in the leg. He and his wife, Laura, were fortunatel...

Re: Sebring Majors?
If you go to SCCAMAJORS.COM you can see their 'synopsis' of the weekend's events for Homestead, Sebring and ACS - I think that is all of the Majors so far. It's pretty brief and the Sebring report doesn't even mention FV I think, but it IS what it IS. Donnie won both races at Homestead (Laura taken ...

Jean, What would you like to know? It rained on most groups at one time or another on Friday. IIRC group 5 practice got the worst of it, then the track was shut down for about 2 hours to let a tornado warning go through. From there on out, no more rain. Good weather on Saturday. Torrential rains ove...

I caution EVERYONE about this. With a quick google search, I found no less than TEN different postings requesting money for "Tom's Medical Fund" - each one for entirely differently described people and accidents. I'll try to reach Tom himself in the next 24 hours and see if this is in fact...

Re: Newb to FV but not Racing
Scott, As far as I know, it is NOT possible to build and race a vintage FV today. By definition, VINTAGE FV means that the car (at least the frame) is OLD. Most are required to have been built sometime before 1975. It MIGHT be possible under some sanctioning bodies to build a copy of such a car and ...

Re: December Minutes
I believe that "like a ball socket type" is NOT meant to allow the swivel foot adjusters .. just an alternate screw that has a 'ball socket' (allen type) instead of a simple screw driver slot to adjust it. It would be nice to know the exact wording of Guy's question to the CRB.

I have so many questions still! where are the regulations for the engine specs ( on 40hp ) posted? Go to this link... http://www.scca.com/pages/cars-and-rules for lots of info on SCCA cars in general. Re: Registration for the Atlanta ARRC is OPEN!
Matt, We asked Hoosier that question and the answer is that they consider the ARRC a "regional" (rather than national or majors) type event. Therefore, they choose to focus contingencies on regional ONLY classes. The nationwide classes already have contingencies in place for most events. (...

Re: Leading arm attachment
Why is zero roll only found on an FV? Is it not a suitable design for other class open wheel cars? The reason zero roll works well on a vee and not most other cars, is the SWING AXLE. MOST other chassis have CV type joints for totally independent suspension. IIRC the early small prod Sprites (or so...

It depends on how you define "motion ratio".. In my car, there is a single rod connecting the ends of the shock to the ends of the axles (actually, a triangular structure that attaches to the axle near the trans and another point at the end of the casting closest to the wheel). There are n...

Re: Leading arm attachment
It seems to just come down to proper shock valving and that adjustable NUT behind the steering wheel. Spring/wheel rate.... and shock valving. Brian Yep ... I MEANT to say that - spring/shock valving. The wheel rate is FIXED (pretty much). Can't change the wheel rate itself - just it's relationship...
