Carburetor Size

When I updated my engine from 1600 cc's to 1915, I was told by the builder of my cylinder heads that if he were building the engine, he would build it using a 44 mm weber carburetor. I have a 40 mm weber and had planned this winter to update to a 44 mm and dyno test the improvement. I talked to my l...

Re: Limited Slip Differential

I just returned from the Packwood Tour and Pro. In both events there were large sweepers. And, in both events I spun an inside rear tire. The 1915 cc engine makes enough more torque that I felt a need to have limited slip. When I spoke to the Babbs (D/Mod Lotus) and an A/Mod driver (car based on a S...

Limited Slip Differential

I'm thinking about adding a Torsen type limited slip to the Vee. Anyone with experience using that type of limitied slip? Does anyone have a suggestion from whom to buy one? Thoughts? Comments?

thanks,

Re: Nationals

As to the location for Solo Nationals, beginning in '09 I heard, at this weekends Wendover Pro, that the site will likely be in Arkansas.

Re: Dual Carb Setup ??

Sorry I can't offer any advice, I went with the 1915 solution, as well. I was told the engine would have more torque with the 1915 cc choice relative to the 1600 cc/dual carb. choice. I haven't been disappointed; however, I haven't seen a Vee with the dual carbs engine.

Good luck,

Re: oil cooler

I think the need for an external oil cooler depends on the size of your run groups, whether you have a co-driver, and if you plan to run Pro Solos. Small run groups, co-drivers, and Pros require back to back runs. I have found my car, which has an external oil cooler, gets pretty hot with each of th...

Re: FM Brake rules clarification

Johnny,

Yes, 39 and 32 mm valve sizes are the ones currently legal for a Solo Vee. By the way, we can thank Chuck
Voboril (member of the MAC) for his help clarifying the rear disc brake and valve size rules.
