Must be that big D13 nose! I don't know how you had any tires not flat spotted, I braked in your tire smoke in 1 and five all race!
Thanks for all your help, that special grease you let me use really paid off, I hope I can retrun the favor, maybe at Shenandoah next month.

Had a great weekend, got my vee wet and muddy friday, had some great racing with Matt, Steve, Ed, Dave and Doug. Sat and Sunday was a ton of fun and I learned a...

Does anyone have a parking area they prefer?
I need electric and to pitch a tent near by?
Would be nice to have the Vee's gang up on the Ford's!

Re: Trans Am Weekend at BlueGrass Motorsports Park
Hold the phone Matt, this is the second time the event cancelled "rumor" has circulated, maybe the SCCA is pulling out, but John Heckman of the FRCCA was there last week and is still pushing forward for the event, he is trying to find an answer today if there are any new setbacks. Stay tun...

Re: Summit Point July 17. 18 & 19
Article I. in the rulebook says a lot about the club: “My belief is that Formula car racers are more committed to developing serious driving skills with less enjoyment coming from pushing and rubbing. A full day of driving, without waiting time is the goal of the FRCCA." I'll be camping at the ...

Re: Stripped lug in drum
My experince with helicoils on many applications, including aircraft is very postive, when installed correctly (proper drill, tap and use lock tight) they are better than the origional thread and will not warp the drum. Same reason we install inserts in the case for our cylindar head studs, mechanic...

Re: Engine Cases
Jim: I hope your making progress with your engine. What I remember about them is that yes you can use a newer case, the best origional ones that I know of are the AS21 cases, from the 1973 Superbeetle era. They are hard to find, the next is the AS41 very good and more common (if there is such a thin...

Re: Some possible rules questions
There is potential solution to the demise of the class in SCCA. This year I started running with the FRCCA (F for Formula Car) No Fenders, No Sports racers, only open wheel cars! They follow the GCR are well organized have all the required things in place to sustain a group such as the FV. They run ...

Re: need advice on reverse lockouts
I have had a lot of feedback on this and wanted to thank everyone so far. One item that I wanted to share is that if the lockout is at the transmission is takes the issue of the linkage play or chasis flex out of the question. If you have to grab 2nd real quick the ones at the trans. give you a post...

Summit Point July 17. 18 & 19
Summit Point - Friday practice, Sat.& Sun. will have multiple practices, timed runs, Qual. & Race each day. Looking for a couple more Vee's. This is the most bang for your buck you'll get anywhere. Low cost, tons of track time, great people who want to have fun, race and help each other adva...

Re: Various Questions
Yes the book is excellant from SR racing, worth every penny. Find somewone near you who races on road courses, we are srpinkled all over, go to a race near you that has Vee's, even offer to help and you will learn a lot in one weekend. You have a fairly simple suspension, and zero roll, though a bit...

Bob: Though I am new to FV I have been wrenching on racecars for more years than I care to mention. 1. Weight - Yes lowering the total weight is something we all strive for, however you do not want to remove any part of the car that has a good reason for being there (Structure and safety). There may...

need advice on reverse lockouts
I need to find a reverse lockout, hopefully one that will help me find 2nd, such as a shifter gate during the race. I have only seen a few and I'm new to Vee's so some help would be much appreciated.

I finally got to run the Shenandoah course this weekend and it is fantastic, very technical, a great, great track. FRCCA runs next in June. We had 3 Vee's this week and what a race. $300 two days 150+ miles on track. Great group of people and officials. Movie night. First class accomidations, electr...

Re: AVGAS question
IS there any concern without lead, I don't think a 1964 valve has stellite face or seats which was a big concern many years ago when pump gas went to unleaded? I'm not running SCCA yet so I'll cross that bridge soon. I got a message that pump gas will have some crud buildup around the valves. I'll c...
