Re: Where do you test a new car?
Lynn is correct, Level 1 is sort of get you feet wet performance driving but there are no single seat racecars allowed. Level 1 is used sometimes as a worker incentive at some tracks and done during lunch/quiet time. Formula cars best bet is Level 3 events (especially in SEDIV) with tracks such as R...

Re: Where do you test a new car?
Time Trials is a program in SCCA that has 4 levels. The first level is for PDX's which in SEDIV are sometimes run with Road Race weekends (another name is HPDE), Level 1 can be done in your personal vehicle and you can use Solo helmet grade (M rated). The Level 1 events are not timed and you are giv...

Re: Where do you test a new car?
From the Time Trial Rules Level 3 Track Trials (Roebling Road Nov event) "10.11. FUEL CELLS Requirements for fuel cells are waived in Time Trials; however any car with a fuel cell must meet all requirements of GCR section 9.3.26 and all subsections." Now in the same book is a section for t...

Re: Where do you test a new car?
Autocross is usually a cheap way to check out a car, the other option is to go to a local drag strip for their test and tune days but of course you dont' have much of a chance to turn. There is a SEDIV Time Trial level 3 event at Roebling Road Nov 13 and 14 but you would need your safety equipment (...

Re: Hans Device
I have tried on a HANS 30M and a Defnder so far to try and figure out what is best fit for me into my Caracal C. After trying both on I see that it may be a problem using either trying to get strapped in by myself. Has anyone tried the Safety Solutions devices like R3 or Hybrid since they seem to st...

Roger,
Check with Fred Clark at Caracal cars for an FV rental. To run the Time Trial you can use your RR novice permit as the license. My email is m.rothermel@hotmail.com

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school
Roger, If you are thinking of running Roebling Roads SEDIV school in 2011 check out the Buccaneer Regions Time Trial in early November 2010. It is a laid back plenty of track time event and can give you an idea if the car can handle sessions up to 15-20 minutes. I agree with the comment above you ne...

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school
What driving school are you entering? The early SEDIV school in Feb would be easier weather wise on what I assume is a hotter running engine. If you go to a summer event have you had any experience what temperature the car runs at? Should not be a problem on running FS class wise. More than likely F...

RIP Hyler Craft
Just got word that Buccaneer Regions Hyler Craft passed away 7/13/2010. Talked to him many times at Roebling and Jekyll, class guy and loved Formula Vees. He and his wife are a big part of SEDIV.

Re: Nashville SuperSpeedway June 18-20, 2010
Sorry Mike
The entry levels numbers for both FV and SRF are not in the high range and with a split start (and 12 total) it wasn't a problem last year. You can email wbperry@comcast.net your concerns.
For two small regions we really appreciate the people who come over to run with us at Nashville.
