It enters on the LOWER side of the radiator and exits at the high side.
If your cooler is of decent size and you can mount it to get get air. You might want to eliminate the use of the radiator altogether. Especially if you are marginal on the engine temps.

Re: Low turnouts
From a retailer/builder standpoint. It is clearly the "low cost" classes that are slowing down their expenditures. Our HANS sales, V8 sales and purchases for the more expensive classes, haven't changed a bit (and in some cases has increased. But the Vee stuff has slowed down. When travel a...

Actually the gas shoots up and down, but when the engine is running the upper spurt doesn't really go up very far.
But as Dietmar says, it sounds like yours is working right.

Re: Flywheel Seal - Major leak, owner prepexed!!
All 1200's (1192) should use the flywheel gasket. (either metal or paper) between the crank and the FW. If you install one on yours you will probably fix the leak and you will have .010+ end play which is what you want. Torque the gland nut to a couple hundred lbs and check your end play. If is is b...

JB Weld shrinks to some degree and in any case doesn't make for a good seal since it dries brittle and can crack. Use RTV for that purpose.KeithLawrence wrote: Also the cam plug looked like the JB weld had it selaed up tight. I'm going to try one of the double lip seals...

Re: Flywheel Seal - Major leak, owner prepexed!!
>>Would a leakdown test show high blowby? It may be worthj it to do before I go into a 3 hour engine pull..<< It may. But I still don't think that is your problem. If it's leaking while idling, you simply have a leak. Your case is vented in a couple spots, not to mention there is no front seal (at t...

Re: Flywheel Seal - Major leak, owner prepexed!!
Don't know if it's a fresh flywheel or where you got it, BUT.. MOFOCO was selling some flywheels that had been turned down on the seal area. Thus, the seal never even touched the flywheel. As long as you are replacing the seal check that it fits your flywheel and rubs it. BTW, it's not part of your ...

Hal, Actually they were PTFE (Teflon) thus they had a melting point well over 600 degrees. We had about 1000 made up several years ago and sold them all. However the last 20 probably took 6 months to sell  As you point out, they worked perfectly, but some people would tighten the nuts down so t...

Scott,
There are several free converters on the web you might try. (AVI, MOV, MPEG etc.) You might download one of those and convert first before editing.

Re: Carb Air Scoop?
Actually, I believe that Chris is right on this one. With no scoop, you have a negative pressure at the carb throat. With a scoop, if you have zero pressure at the throat, then you are swallowing all the air and potentially no drag from the scoop inlet, and you have higher pressure than without a s...

Re: Carb Air Scoop?
Also, the Cd is less than 1 because you are "swallowing" the air, not deflecting it... If you "swallowed all the air, you would have zero boost. To achieve boost you will have pressure and thus aero drag. You'd probably end up with < 3 lb force or about ~ 1/2 HP @80. If you mean 3 lb...

Re: Carb Air Scoop?
It is highly unlikely you will get enough boost to offset the aerodynamic costs. Just make sure it is getting as cool as air as possible. Does the carb jetting need to account for the increased 3 inches? A quick search of this website quoted 116 CFM at 28" for a FV Carb. Would you want carb set...

Re: On board camera suggestions
Hal, Yours was purchased a year ago. In the earlier cameras some of them had simple metal tabs for the battery connectors. They later went to springs. It is possible you have one of the early ones. Vibration would cause them to cut out and/or record bad files. Go-Pro was replacing them for anyone th...

Steve is right as usual for set up.... But... At the risk of irritating shock rebuilders... I dont' agree with the yearly rebuild requirement. If you have a Nitrogen filled shock, you might want to check and purge that frequently, but if the nitrogen pressure stays close and the shock isn't leaking,...

Jim, what ratio are you seeking with the broad band sensor? L Bacon That's a secret. About 13.2 is pretty good. You won't lose much at even 12.8, and it will run a bit cooler. 13.6 or so is as lean it should get normally. With the correct a/c and main jets you should be able to keep it in ran...

I normally use air density to change up or down one jet from my baseline that my engine builder used when it was rebuild. I went to a track that had a long straight. It was a normal day that required no change. I was running very lean by looking at the plugs. I ask another racer what jet he is usin...
