Autodynamics Body Work

I have a 1965 Autodynamics Mark IIB that we vintage race. The body work is showing its age. Does anyone have and molds or spare body pieces available ? A nose piece would be the most needed piece.

Front Motor Mount

I have a 1965 Autodynamics Mark IIb that I vintage race. My front motor mount is a 3/4" square tube that spans the engine bay and bolts on tab under engine. Last weekend it broke in middle of tube. Anyone have any photos of their front mounts? When I restored this car I tryed to keep it as orig...

Re: Can't Find 2nd Gear

Problem solved. We tore tranny down yesterday and found some small burrs inside of second gear slider that was adding enough resistance to prevent it from sliding into second gear. Polished off and now second slide right into gear. Thanks to all of you that offered advice.

Re: Can't Find 2nd Gear

Only reason is I would like to autocross the car every now and then and just the fact that if something is causing it not to go into secocnd there might be other things going on in tranny

Re: Can't Find 2nd Gear

It is not a matter of too much force. I installed tranny, went to a race and was never able to put in 2nd.
Pulling and sending to builder

Re: Can't Find 2nd Gear

I pulled nose cone off and found that I could not manually pull shift rod for 2nd into gear. All of the other shift rods go into gear at appx 12lbs of pull with a push/pull scale. the 1st/2nd shift rod goes into 1st with 12lbs of push. I am pulling tranny out and returning to the builder for an inte...

Can't Find 2nd Gear

I need some suggestions before I pull trans from vee. It is fresh, 1 weekend vintage race. It will not go into 2nd gear. I thought at first it was linkage related as linkage was a little sloppy. We have built new linkage front to back and all other gears shift smoothly and very precise. Even if I di...

Re: Front drum part number

I have had a front drum failure this season at Texas World Speedway. It was a left front which is the least loaded at TWS. The drum had 6 weekends of vintage racing with hoosier vintage tires. I now check my drums for cracking on my prerace weekend inspections. It just could have been a very isolate...

Re: reverse lock-out

FV95 I have sent you my email address for the photos. I vintage race my Vee and at one of our tracks, Hallet I think on the opening laps 2nd would be useful in one of the slow corners, plus I would like to AutoX the car and without being able to go from 3rd to 2nd it is very hard to compete.

Re: Hoosier vs Dunlop Vintage Tire

The Dunlops are about $30 per tire more, they both are 60% more than any of the current slicks. There are only 2 sizes that are Vintage legal from what I understand as most vintage groups and Monoposto require a 24" or taller rear tire.

Hoosier vs Dunlop Vintage Tire

this is my first season of vintage racing so I am not real familiar with the performance of the threaded vintage style tires we are required to race on. CVAR will start requiring rhe tires at our TWS Sept event. Has anyone done any back to back comparision between the Hoosiers and Dunlops? Any opini...

Heat Ranges

What is the typical heat ranges of spark plugs used in Vee motors. I am running Bosch range 5 and if I idle any lenght of time they seem to foul. Could I go up a range or so without damage. It makes it hard to warm up oil with this issue.

Front Shock Damping Ratio

Hi All, What is the general openion on front shock damping ratio, Compression vs Rebound. I have just started vintage vee racing having come from GT1 type cars. What I am presently running is a Pro-SB51 set now. My understanding that these are 50/50. I know in the 70's when I last ran a Vee I used a...

Z-bar Setup advice

I have made it through the first race with no issues. everyone thought I should up grade from my 5/8" z-bar to a 3/4" bar. I have fabbed and installed. I have been working on race cars most of my life, but have never messed with a z-bar before. Any setup stuff you all can help me with when...
