Does anyone have a current model Citation tail section that is very used or damaged?
I want to play with one but don't want to cut up the one on my car.
Thanks

Re: New manifold rules in GCR
Not to go off topic, but for those who are viewing this issue with concern about the class, check over at ApexSpeed. The FF guys are debating new wheels at maybe $2400 a SET! Even though there are times I wish it wasn't, the SCCA is a member driven club. Make your opinion known to the Comp Board and...

Re: SCCA license fees
I have to admit that I don’t think the fees are too burdensome at this point. I am still closer to 50 than 60 (although getting closer every year) and get a physical each year anyway, which is covered under my companies insurance. The fee for a expedited application is stiff, but since mine is up in...

Re: New manifold rules in GCR
Enlarging the shoulders beyond stock...must remain stock 1) Fact: we do not know what stock is! VW does not provide a dimension. How does Tech measure something labeled "stock"? 2) By virtue of the fact that the new rules DO NOT outlaw balling, etching, etc., then these procedures become ...

Re: Why is the Sky Blue?
I have had this discussion in everything from slot cars to cub scout pinewood derby. When we discussed a spec tire in FV someone said we had to allow tire development in FV becuase he had to go faster. IN A FV? Get a FF if you want to ge faster. I will discuss the manifold question in another post, ...

Re: D-13 for sale
Kevin, Dow down under 10,000, record layoffs, etc. Good deal - bad timing. There are a lot of good deals out there. I should have been saving up to buy a fleet. If you have not made a move to buy a new car you might want to hang on to it for another year. It should still be competitive at NHMS...

FV #1 Open Wheel Class!
Here are the numbers: http://cms.scca.com/documents/2008%20Runoffs/2008%20National%20Participation%20MASTER_FINAL.pdf SRF still maintains a lead I believe to strong dealer network and rental cars. SM is the FV for this decade. What has happened to SSC? Should be in the top 10! Note 6 of the top 11 c...

I will fill in some more details: I was in between Anthony Parker and Tony Leone when Anthony spun (a tony sandwich?) and I juuuusttt made it by, but Tony, being the 3rd car had less time to react. Note: I don't know if would have helped, but with the repaving and new course at Lime Rock, if someone...

Brian, Sorry - I was speaking in the generic "you" of the regions and the track. This has been a tough year between the economy and Lime Rock. For the future, I see a lot of potential, but a lot of stress if we are going to have more tracks and the same number of racers - a problem we coul...

Okay guys and gals, Only four entries so far for this event. The regions that race at NJMP are trying to figure out what to do for next year. So far the lack of support for this new facility has been pretty surprising. The South Jersey Region put on a very good event in July and this one promises t...

Re: Weight of Driving Suit
The suit is a Crow 2 layer suit and I got it from WESCO on the West Coast - It is made of Proban. Weight is about 6 lbs. After wearing it, much of the weight is in the seat and in the collars around the feet. Lots of material that wraps around the shoes and it also has a strap that keeps it from rid...

Re: Limerock 8-2008 National
Jeff hit most of the big points - tough to find the turn in point for West Bend, on the other hand there is lots more runoff room if a problem, like a FF spinning in from to me! Personally, I would not like to see No-Name straight changed. One of the best views in racing , is to stand at the botton ...

Weight of Driving Suit
I recently bought my first driving suit in 15 years. I went from a single layer 3.2A/1 to a 3.2A/5 double layer suit. While the new suit looks like it will give much better protection, I was surprised about the increased weight. It was a inexpensive suit, so is the weight related to the cost or the ...

Re: LimeRock no longer a momentum track
If they run the "Classic" track, a long box will be even more important as the track is smooth and faster than the last repaving (where some FV's were in the 59's!) If either of the alternate turns are used, then a shortbox becomes a necessity. Remember, the downhill and main straight are ...

Re: LimeRock no longer a momentum track
Okay - back from the track - here is the first impressions: 1. There were lots of people there. When you figure there was only really 1 race (2 minor support races) and only 30 ALMS cars, then 20,000 + people came to watch 30 cars......... (of course having Marco there didn't hurt) 2. The track surf...

Re: LimeRock no longer a momentum track
The "classic" track is still there. There are some videos on youtube where one car does West Bend and one car the "new turn". BTW - for all those who wondered how much these new turns would slow the cars down, the P2 cars were doing 44.6 with the "chicane" last year. Th...

The NER Cheap Date weekend has been a great deal with a good turnout. MoHud tried a similar event last year and took a bath.

Re: Low turnouts
Kevin is right in that it is not just money. It takes a perfect storm of money, interest, people and tracks to make really large turnouts. FV has endured FF, Spec Racer, IT and now Spec Miata and continues to be one of the larger groups. Here is my turn to rant - in the 30+ years I have been around ...
