Re: front supension beam bearings
If you use the Delrin front bushings would it be better to cut off the ears and slide them in to where the bakelite bushings would normally be. Ream them out to 1.50ish... and use the standard Vee aluminum spacer (or the trick SR spacer) on the sway bar and the standard dust seal on the spring pack?

Re: Zink C4 restoration-the long term project
Hi, Looks like a nice project. The frame looks pretty original which will keep the vintage guys happy. It also looks like the a previous owner updated the front hoop (the bar area in front of the steering wheel) and added forward bracing to the rear roll bar. Which are great added safety features an...

Re: Which is worse...Long Box Short Box??
Mark, In order to stay married... I promised to sell some of my cars and parts before the new one arrived. (Not a Vee 8) ) So the answer is Yes, I'm not sure if my "other car" will be ready for this year. Trying to take what’s left in parts and do a few races next year to keep my SCCA lice...

Re: Which is worse...Long Box Short Box??
I actually have both transaxles. I have a fresh new 1.26 long box, and a short box which came with my Zink. The short box was not built by anyone that would make it an “outstanding short box”. I was hopping to just use the 1.26 long box; I didn’t know how possible or impossible NHMS would be. Based ...

Re: Which is worse...Long Box Short Box??
I've heard that at Limerock, the Vandecar's (aka experienced drivers , aka not me) can drive it with a short box, leave it in 4th and drive s#E^^G%F&* out of the car and do well. I've never driven NHMS with a long box, so I didn't know how bad the uphill would be.
Thanks all

Which is worse... a short box at Limerock (a long box track) or a long box at NHMS (a short box track)?

77MM Pistons?
I'm selling some spare parts on e-bay, one item I have listed is a set of 77mm .020 over pistons. Providing all the below rules are met, shouldn't they be legal? The GCR says "The engine shall be a standard VW power plant, as normally fitted to VW sedans as defined herein. Any engine part(s), l...

If you take the measurement of from the inside of the bead, you'll get 4" X 15" but that's hard to do at a junk yard with the tire mounted on it...
The actual measurements edge to edge of the 4J 15 rim steel rim with a tape measure on is 16" 1/4 x 5"

Re: Startting from Scratch - FV or FST?
be aware that no fv drivers will appreciate a fst attempting to race with them due to the fact that you'll pass them on the straight and impede them in the corners until you learn the handling, which takes years. That's a silly point to argue for someone not to start in FST... Since if he starts in ...
