I use a hardwired transponder mounted on the front of the frame just below the beam. They must be pretty tough, it survived a head on crash into a tire barrier at Mid-O last fall and it still works fine. I was going fast enough to bend the beam back about 3 inches on one side.

Look for a small hole at the top of the tail cover casting above the shift linkage. If you have a fitting there that is for your vent line. If not that is where you would put one. Drum brakes are no longer allowed in Formula First per the 2008 Rules. The VW parts to convert the rear to disc are fairly inexpensive when compared to the the after market stuff. They will fit inside a 13" wheel with some minor grinding on the outside of the calipers. As for weight issues ther...

My dad had one of these in the early 70's. White with a red stripe down the center. He used to run BHF and RA every year.
