Re: After Market Spindles

The spindles and carriers were developed for off road use. They have been used for over 30 years by off road and dune buggy enthusiasts. You can decide for yourself whether or not they are better. These are new not used parts.

Re: June Minutes

A group of members is organizing a "get out the vote effort" to request that the wording be changed to allow for AVERAGING of the bend area. This is something that the Ad Hoc Committee opposes if for no other reason than this idea of averaging is the cause of where we are today. In 1997, ...

Re: FasTrack FV Final Manifold Rules Proposal

Bruce, Your facts have no bearing on our argument. You are stating that a rule change, from '96 to '97, that was more specific in where to measure was the cause of our current problem. That must be your use of " If in doubt, don't ". I agree, but it has nothing to do with the argument. It ...

Re: FasTrack FV Final Manifold Rules Proposal

The most important thing to do is send in your response to the CRB. I personally wanted the original proposal presented to us at last years Runoff meeting. That is why I sent in mine with the added change by Gary Kittell. I reasoned those with the most knowledge, the manifold constructors, also thou...

Re: My letter about the FV spec intake

Unless I'm mistaken there has never been a spec part in FV Nationally. We are a restricted class not a spec class. There have been specified parts that can be modified. A piston is usually lighten and the cylinder is cut to match the piston, trans parts can be configured in many ways, there is a cho...

Re: My letter about the FV spec intake

Eric, Why and who asked you to post your letter? I am not in agreement with the spec manifold and as of yet have not been dissuaded nor do I consider any of your reasons sound enough for me to change my stance. I was not asked to post my opinion, nor was I given a conformation of my vote being accep...

Re: My letter about the FV spec intake

I have a curious question. Has there been a manifold rule change approved by someone that goes into effect at the end of this year the FV community knows nothing about? I would like to know how this could be? I have seen no mention in any Fastrack relating to a manifold rule change. I thought we wer...

Re: January meeting

Steve, I would suspect they would at a minimum had to have their engines put on a dyno and have their carbs rejetted, however the spec manifold that was sent around is a totally different animal. You can not compare one to the other. This is why I am asking that the info gathered to be shared includ...

Re: January meeting

The analogy of the bat is not a good comparison, because the a bat is a stand alone item. The intake manifold works in conjunction with the rest of the engine. The supposed $450.00 cost of the spec manifold is not all that will be needed. The carb and heads will need to be reworked. They all will ne...

Re: January meeting

The committee wants input for the type of Spec Manifold to pursue. How about letting the information you have gathered on the Spec Manifold out? How can anyone make an objective selection without any facts? I keep hearing that the Spec Manifold will be cheaper and easier to maintain. Where are the f...

As long as they meet the eligibility requirements, there is no limit. This from Terry Ozment. I should add the question asked, Will there be a limit, as to how many each class, a division can send?

Here is a link to pictures of the Australian spec Manifold http://s782.photobucket.com/albums/yy108/sabre1fv/ These were taken at Ron Chucks Shop. I will let the photographer, if he wishes to identify himself. The Manifold is 1.125" stainless, stock is .995".
