You may find it impossible to seal the two piece sheet metal axle tube flanges on early transmissions. If the tranny was not professionally built you may have a bunch of mismatched parts, IE: o-ring side covers on non o-ring case.

Don't forget the hard washer. Throw the metal washer that comes in the kit away, purchase the proper one from Bob at LRE. If you don't you will get lot's of practice re-doing the seals.

If you don't want it to look so crude, take the nose piece(mounting flange) off and mark the location you want and re drill it. I have drilled several for different people. Hi Torque sells the replacement nose for about $20 if you don't want to re drill the original.

Te 12 volt starters can weight up to 1/2 as much as a 6 volt unit.

The bead seats are the way to go. They give you the time necessary to move the beads to get a good fit. Once you move the beads around and get things just right, hit it with you vacuum cleaner sit back for a half hour and climb out. The vacuum holds beads in place. Cure time is about24 hours(full). ...

There is a link on Apexspeed.com to the FIA web site with all the specifics on mounting your belt properly for use with the HANS device. Many factor come into play including the size of the HANS itself. If I get around to it I will post the link.
