Re: Cutting patterns in metal

If your looking to go cheap, which is what you said then go with a set of Wiss (left and right-hand) aviation snips. They are the best and at around $20 each they're cheap. They'll cut up to 14 GA mild steel too - if your hands are strong enough. A tool the Ed mentioned is a throat-less shear or Bev...

Re: Intake Manifold for Vintage

Brian, I believe that the GCR (current) states that the manifolds will be checked for O.D. in three different places ( just taking into consideration the cross tube and not the down tube) per side and around the circumfrence at several spots at those places. It lists the maximum O.D. allowed at thos...

Nice folks to deal with. You do need to send your core to them as they no-longer stock them. Quick turn around too.

Nice to have the finger type - unless you like the "on-off" switch feeling of the diaphram style.

Thanks Butch! It's nice to find out this info.
Is it okay to distribute some CD's (at no cost other than for the CD's) then?

Re: Digital version of Frank Scheultheis's Scrutineer's handbook

I'll ask one of my customers (from the SF region) if he knows of him.
I will go no further with this until we find some more info on this subject.
If it works out the only cost involved will be for the CD's, not my time.

I scanned vol. 1 yesterday and will the other probably tomorrow but still want to make sure that it's okay to distribute this material via CD's.
Any contact info for Mr. Schultheis would be appreciated.

Re: Digital version of Frank Scheultheis's Scrutineer's handbook

I suppose I could (if it's NOT copy written) scan the whole thing and list it somewhere....
I have two copies: one from like '74 and the other from the next year or two, not sure, they have a lot of dust on them.
It has a LOT of info on Vees.

Re: Front beam Spring Pack question

Sometimes I've cut pieces off of the ends of the leaves and glued or taped them into place to act as spacers to fill in the empty areas of the pack. (sides and center need to have full packs in those areas)
Maybe yours was that way but some of them slipped out of position.

Re: Ceramic coating pistons

Piston on the left seems to have been the victim of a too lean mixture situation. Two-stroke pistons look just exactly like that when you lean them out too much and they melt. I'm not saying that the coating process doesn't work, more like that piston would've melted with or without the coating. It'...

Hey, I've been emailing the past few days to this "guy", I use the term loosely, with the Vee that was on ebay. He's just a few nuts short of a tree full.
Just FYI. Good luck trying to get any info from him.
