Winter projects???
This site has been so dead for so long, I thought I would ask what everyone is doing? What winter projects are happening? I am wrapping my car up. I have added all the tweaks except for the LSD. A ball joint front end, coil overs, discs brakes all around, 1915cc, rack and pinion. Of course, the ball...

They are not required in SOLO however, I have been thinking of replacing my tank but I bet anything you would have is way too big. I am running a Caracal-C now...

Re: Dust of your concrete setups
Okay.. What I was trying to say is that if there are no longer any Tours and only the two mini-nationals, it is going to be difficult for some people to get to one and thus reduce their entry fee for the Nationals providing of couse that it is still a requirement. I hope that clears it up. However, ...

Re: Dust of your concrete setups
Lynn, I get it but thanks for the info. That is very interesting but I can see how it could be seen as a negative especially by people that live on the other side of the bump to the left or by the ones up in the small states in the N.E if that is the only way to get a National event to reduce the co...

Re: Dust of your concrete setups
What do you mean by a major event? We already have a Tour at Peru every year... so I'm clueless unless you might be talking about Blythville or Toledo..
More info if you will...
Thanks,

Re: Autocross in Blytheville AR Oct 11/12
WOW! That is huge.... You are talking about that slab of concrete off to the west side, right? Is it undulating like most of those SAC fields? Is the concrete stable or broken up? When are our fearless leaders going to make the call? Is it by next year or do we have that one back at HPT? Thanks, JGB

Okay.. Just how big is that site in comparison to say HPT?
I'm dreaming of renting a motorhome/camper for the week and grilling out every evening.. Doesn't get much better than that.. Except for the comraderie (sp?) and the racing of course!
I'm voting for this site for Nats! LOL

Re: Nationals
Vernon, As I stated before, I was for a separate class. The issue is that we are stuck with what they gave us. When one has cars that are as radically different as the 500's and the Vee's in one class it is easy to see that different course attributes will affect each one differently. It's just the ...
Re: Nationals
Everyone, Okay. I have to chime in just to add another voice to this issue. In no specific order I am going to address several items in the previous posts. However, firstly I want to ask you Vern, was your engine dynoed on an engine dyno or a chassis dyno? Even if you were on a chassis dyno and usin...

Re: Battery size/capacity for Solo?
I concur. A lawn tractor battery will work fine and will last for more than one season if you take care of it through the winter.. Also the gel battery that this site's sponsors sell work well. They are more pricey but a little lighter. However, I have been having a problem getting them to survive t...

Lynn, I thought lodging was a major inconvenience at this site... Is it not? If we return to bumpy concrete, the 500 guys are going to be making serious noise about it! BTW, just got mine fired up this weekend but unfortunately will not make it to Nats this year.. DId you ever get your 1915 ...
Re: Nationals
I noticed that he beat Jeff Bleumenthal (sp?) at Peru. Actually Sott beat him the first day and Jeff got him the second but Scott still had him by nearly a second. However due to the big differential in a couple of runs, Jeff may have been having some troubles on the first day. Also, noticed that Sc...
Re: Nationals
Thanks for the invitation but I'll be back in Cincy working on mine this weekend. Finishing the steering rack and associated parts... and finishing the engine install.. Should get to fire it up with a little luck. I would expect that Scott would be at the Milwaukee Tour, wouldn't he? Speaking of my ...
Re: Nationals
Unfortunately due to taking a new job in Northwest Indiana, I have not finished with the changes on the car and will not make it to Nationals this year.
BTW, anyone with the autocrossing up in this area?
Best of luck to all...

Carb setup on 1915?
Anyone got any baseline suggestions for the jetting both air and fuel, the emulsion tube, and venturis for a 44IDF on a 1915?

I'm not sure about the clearance issue but you may want to check the legality of running an adapter plate.. I may be wrong but I seem to remember that it is a no-no..
Anyone please chime in if you can set me straight..

Re: Solo Vee Disc brakes... anyone converted?
So Jim, I was pretty much all front bias with my drums and have gone to discs on the front but plan to add them in the rear later. I believe I have 5/8" cylinders both front and rear.. What would you expect that I will need to do to gain the additional front bias? and ... What causes the need f...
