Re: rear end steps out
Try different droop settings first and rear shock rebound adjustments next.
For mid-corner rear grip, these are the only things that matter.
My guess is you want more droop control (smaller value) and less rebound.

Re: Long Box or Short Box
I think people that run shortbox, are knowingly making a decision to abuse your engine more. If you are not going to win, or run near the front, then run a LB, and increase your chances of having a healthy engine at the end. That rationale may be more applicable if running non-elite engines from bui...

Re: Can't Find 2nd Gear
If nothing is wrong except you cannot find 2nd, why fix it. Use 1st or 3rd. No racetrack I have been on requires 2nd gear. Seems like a huge waste of time and money.
Buy half a set of tires instead.

Re: Goodyear Sticker Tires
I can ship these out to arrive before the Runoffs, but it should happen soon. I'm away many days in early September and I'd like to get these to someone who can use them.
All offers considered.
Thanks!

Re: Goodyear tires
Come on! Greg's not that scary? Ed I ran Goodyear tires on my FVs most recently and found them excellent to deal with. My personal opinion is, that they were giving away more FV tires than they were selling. Not a good business plan. I hope that the FV community can pressure Hoosier to rework their...

No more Goodyear FV tires in the warehouse!
These are perfect for the Goodyear Runoffs-bound racer who does not want to "start over" with another brand!

Re: Neck Restraints
The Simpson unit is the only one that I've been able to drive a Formula car with. At that, I have to have the belts looser than I'd like, and miss more shifts, but atleast I can drive with it. Not a chance with the HANS. Its not like buying a pair of socks ..... especially if you are a bigger guy in...

Crew for Pro FF @ I.T.SPEC*tacular at MidOhio July 26th-29th
I know the FVs are not invited but maybe some local FV types are looking to come out and watch or check out the Pro F1600 or F2000 racing. Maybe unemployed, and looking for a few days of work at a race track. We're short on crew for our 2-car F1600 team. We need real help with physical work on very ...

Re: June Sprints
Its been new ................ since the 60s. The Lynxs had quicksteer spindles from very early on. Don't most modern FVs use modified spindles? Every car through my shop, but the Womer, have them. Fabricated spindles usually break when steering tie rods are not set up properly ..... the rod ends bot...

Re: Spec Tires
Who exactly are you seeking official approval from? Even if 20 people piped up on this internet forum and said "Yes" they still wouldn't qualify as a quorum of all FV drivers. That's the role of the F/SR, CRB and BOD. If you want to bypass that avenue, then I'm not sure who you are seekin...

Re: Spec Tires
I am, however, against elimating tire contingencies. All sports reward winners, typically and unfortuantly at the cost of the loosers. I remember how great the feeling was when I was able to claim my first free tire for winning a national. I would not want to take that away from anyone. The next st...

Re: Spec Tires
Lasts longer
cost less
fits current rims
and is still a racing tire not some street tire
Yes, and with minimal degradation(loss of performance) through first 12-15 cycles.
Wear and degradation has to be without flipping tires on wheels every other session.

Re: Spec Tires
I already volunteered. No one gave me the go ahead. Page 3, May 16th. "If the FV community gives me authority, I will negotiate with suppliers, test tires at my expense, and deliver a spec tire program to SCCA by Oct 1, 2012. There would be no charge to SCCA or anybody else. I would absorb all ...

Re: Spec Tires
We don't need to tell them to make us a harder tire. We tell them what our objectives are, (more cycles before wearing out, minimal degradation over x cycles, standard sizing, etc) and we let them build us a tire. They know best what compound and construction will best meet performance and cost obje...

Re: Spec Tires
This may be the perfect scenario. Goodyear fades away. Hoosier detunes their tire so that it is still faster than AR or Falkens, and lasts much longer with minimal degradation. If they eliminate tire sponsorships, they can likely drop the price by $100 set. With no fear of obsolescence, they can sch...
